Let’s face it, selling tickets to an event is not always as easy as you’d think, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. Working alongside channel partners, offering exclusive opportunities, and utilizing complimentary tickets are simple strategies that could make a big difference in the success of your next event.

Here’s how to use them:

Channel Partners

A fast way to promote your event to endless amounts of people is to work with channel/community partners. One of the perks of working with these groups is that there is relatively zero cost associated. Many groups and organizations have large email lists. Partner with them and include your event in their next mail out. The key to locking in partners is to offer them a promo code with a discounted price or VIP access. Providing an exclusive opportunity to a channel partner provides them with an opportunity to engage their network with value.

Exclusive Opportunities

Reward your network. Provide your network with an opportunity to purchase for an event prior to the tickets going on sale to the public. Provide loyal buyers with exclusive rights and knowledge in order to make them feel involved and empowered.  A great side effect of exclusive offers is that when you do go public with your sales you should have a large portion of tickets sold.

Complimentary Tickets

Many events have a budget committed to complimentary tickets.  Providing complimentary tickets can be a time-consuming process.  Setting a promo code to free will save you time and keep you better organized. Rather than sending out free tickets, have your VIPs register with a code to get their free ticket.  This process saves time, captures contact information and affords you the option to survey VIP’s if you need, which helps you run your event more smoothly.
